(I hope this is in the area)
I am currently reading several books (a first for me). These include The purpose driven life, Lost and Found, How to win friends and influence people, and two marketing books.
I am really interested in developing myself more as a leader. Does anyone else have any books to suggest?
Thanks, _________________ Don Deskins |

Hello,
This appears to be somewhat of an old thread, but I'll add to it anyway. Here is a good book on leadership: "Excellence in Leadership" by John White, published by InterVarsity Press, Downers Grove, Illinois, 1986.
I have written a statement on "the nature and benefits of shared leadership". An introduction to the basics of this can be read at http://christianityetc.org/leadership.php. I have written a manual on "Leadership and Teamwork in the Church", which provides a complete series of 8 workshops on this matter. I am distributing free copies of this manual to any pastors or other Christian workers who would like to use it in their ministries of leadership development. Let me know if you want a copy and how you might use it. I'll be glad to answer any questions that anyone might have about my manual or these workshops.

I would recommend you check out the book Launching a Leadership Revolution. It specifically tackles leadership from a God fearing perspective and introduces a program to develop and measure your progress of development as a leader. See the Trilateral Leadership Ledger.

Also, in keeping with the servant leadership that the authors Chris Brady and Orrin Woodward teach, they donate 100% of the money they receive from the book to All Grace Outreach and its ministry of the Gospel in the US and abroad.
When you read a book, you are submitting yourself to the author in a sense and stating within yourself that the author may have something to teach you. When accepting advice or teaching from anybody you should seek it from those who have fruit on the tree. I have had personal interaction with both of these guys and I have seen first hand the fruit of their lives and I would submit to you that if you truly want to develop your leadership potential, that you seek out everything you can from Orrin and Chris. |
